1959 Mattel Brunette #1 Barbie doll with swimsuit No Reserve

  

I have had her in my collection for about 10 years and bought her from a reputable dealer in Washington state. I believe she is all original. She has beautiful face paint with bright red lips that have a little bit of a lip rub on the right top side.

She has full, curly bangs and a thin ponytail. Many early dolls had various lengths and fullness of hair and this doll has a thinner ponytail. Her body has faded with age and she has faded quite evenly. Her feet do not have the typical staining from wearing shoes for many years, they are very nice. Her foot is marked "Japan" and her bottom has the Barbie logo, Pats Pending, MCMLVIII, by Mattel Inc. The copper rod is sticking out of her left foot. She has various scratches and mold marks that are typical for the early Barbie dolls. She is a lovely display doll and will make some Barbie collector very happy! She is not mint and her starting price is low because she has some flaws, however she is very pretty. If you want more specific pictures please send me a message.
