1959 Mattel Brunette #3 Barbie doll with swimsuit No Reserve

  

I have had her in my collection for about 10 years and bought her from a reputable dealer in Washington state - the same dealer that I bought the brunette #1 that is also for sale. I believe she is all original.

She has beautiful face paint with bright red lips and gorgeous brows. She has tight curly bangs and a thin ponytail. Many early dolls had various lengths and fullness of hair and this doll has a thinner ponytail. Her body has faded with age and she has faded quite evenly.

Her feet have a little bit of staining from wearing shoes for many years. Her foot is marked "Japan" but it is very hard to read. Her bottom has the Barbie logo, Pats Pending, MCMLVIII, by Mattel Inc.

She has an extra pinhole in her left ear. See pictures that show various scratches and mold marks that are typical for the early Barbie dolls. She is a lovely display doll and will make some Barbie collector very happy! She is not mint and her starting price is low because she has some flaws, however she is very pretty.
