Near Mint Braided Blonde #5 Ponytail Barbie Zebra Swimsuit 1961

  

Gorgeous #5 braided ponytail Barbie from 1961 in original zebra swimsuit. I don't know if there is such thing as a "factory braid", but this doll is the closest thing I've ever seen to it. She came to me from an original owner with a near-perfect braid and and ancient rubberband that had deteriorated at the bottom of it.

I had to replace the rubberband and in the process the braid had to be tightened up, but this is pretty much how she's been for the last 50 plus years. Hair is super long and thick, so that may be evidence of an original braid, too.

Either way, I left the braid in. Original top knot still there with new rubberband added.

No green, no split neck, no swingy limbs, no nose nip. Beautiful hair with no cuts or missing plugs. Original makeup with a bit of smokey eyeshadow. One earring hole per ear.

The little bit of green she had right at her earring holes came off easily. No playwear on her Barbie-only torso.
