RARE vintage 1950's Bild Lilli doll 11.5 near mint Barbie prototype original

  
He was interested in languages so he kept the original paperwork for the doll because it was written in German. My husband inherited this doll and he gave it to me for my doll collection. For years we thought it was an original Barbie but wondered about the see-through bodice of her lovely dress. Somehow, over time, we realized it was a Bild Lilli, the prototype for Barbie. The paperwork authenticates the doll as an original Bild Lilli, as well as the type of snap used on the doll's clothing.

The snaps are PRYM snaps, identified as such by the heart shaped design engraved in the bottom portion of the snap. The doll is in near-mint condition, there is only one small dark mark on one of the ankles, please see close-up photo provided.

It might clean off, but I did not dare attempt to clean it. It is not noticeable as, in all the years I have had the doll I never noticed it until I took the photos today.

The doll comes to you from a smoke and perfume free home, so no unwanted smells will arrive with the doll.
