Vintage 1959 Barbie #1 Original Ponytail Doll Barbie, Never Retouched

  

Here she is, a #1 Blonde ponytail Barbie from 1959 in original condition! She is an absolutely, beautiful #1 ponytail Barbie! This Barbie has no modification, splits, or cracks! Her body has a nice pale color to it!

She comes with her original zebra bathing suit, black heels with holes in the bottom for stand, and box! The bathing suit is free of holes and stains. The left, black heel that says Japan on the bottom is split on top. The metal cylinder sleeve on her right foot is missing, the left foot clearly has the metal cylinder. Her right foot is marked Japan and it is in not in a square.

She comes with an original Teen Age Fashion 1959 Mattel box. The box is torn at the top and at the bottom edge is completely torn off the top part of the box. The bottom of the box has no tears along the edges but does have a rip along the right, vertical side of the box.

The box is weathered and has stains, marks, and scuffs all around it. She is missing many of her original accessories, such as her stand, booklet, sunglasses and earrings.

She does not have green ear, but on her right side, you can see some green where the hole for the earring goes into her face. Her face does appear to look a little dirty. It may come off with some cleaning, but I have not tried to clean her in any way. She does not come with the original white stand pictured!

Her hair is in overall good condition for a Barbie this age! It is not redone or modified in any fashion and the rubber band/elastic band at the top knot of the ponytail is showing and has almost completely deteriorated.

The bottom rubber band is still intact but has also started to deteriorate and crack apart. Her bangs are nice and curly still! Her hair has slightly thinned over the years, but no bald spots are present! She does have a small darker brownish area on the top of her hair, picture #7, look to the left hand side of the picture. Her makeup is original with no touch ups and she has been alcohol tested! The black eyeliner is slightly worn off on her right eyelid. On the left-hand side, just a very, small spot has worn off on her eyelid. Her lipstick has somewhat faded over time.

Barbie has some scuffs and small permanent marks on her body. On the front of her shins you can see some scraps along there, a couple small indentations and also on her feet. On her right arm, close to the arm socket on the front, there is a tannish colored stain, or it could even be a wear mark. It is hard to discern, so I will let you be the judge!

She also has a small, orangish colored stain on her right wrist. Her toenail and fingernail polish are intact and are not repainted/retouched. On her left toes, there is a brownish colored mark. It is possible that this is some sort of dirt/grime and will come out. Once again, I do not want to touch it and do damage to it to try to get it off. Her limbs move exactly like they should, not too loose and not too stiff. This includes her neck, that moves just as it should as well. Her right leg appears to be slightly longer than her left. It is difficult to show this Barbies beauty in just 12 pictures! She comes from smoke free home. With Christmas coming upon us, she sure would make a great Christmas gift for her new owner!
