Vintage 1964 MISS BARBIE Sleep Eye BEND LEG DOLL in Outfit with BOX & Swing Wigs +

  

This is a Vintage 1960's Barbie DOLL called MISS Barbie Teen-Age Fashion Model BY MATTEL, HER LEGS REALLY BEND.... HER EYES OPEN & CLOSE! COMPLETE WITH LAWN SWING & PLANTER!

She comes in original Box.... Swing has instruction sheet for assembly... Also includes a small doll-side "Magazine" and Metal Doll Stand.

The doll has an American Girl style body (but smaller neck peg)... She has a hard-plastic head with molded hair. HEAD: The ears are "melted" on both sides...

There is a very minor melt-mark on right temple... On left temple there is a more notable melt spot... Minor lines on the back of neck. It is nearly impossible to find these without melt-marks... This one is actually in better condition than most I come across. I replaced the rubber ring inside her neck with a piece of an o-ring since the original rubber had deteriorated (this way her head can stay on the body and move as it should)... Face paint only has minimal wear... BODY: there is an odd sinch bite? To the back of one arm's shoulder.... Fingers intact with some nail polish remaining... The legs are in good shape with no bite marks... The knees have slight "bubbles" from probably being left in bent position. OUTFIT: The Swimsuit's glitter is worn off/only partly there.... Hard-to-find mop-top yarn hat is in good shape, except elastic is no longer stretchy... High heel shoes are good (one marked Japan). WIGS ON STAND: They are. (not stuck-on, like they sometimes do).. But there are some melt-marks/stuck hairs underneath. SWING SET: The white PEGS are.

I have repaired a few with a chemical that re-fuses the plastic... This has left a glossy residue..

They will not re-break, so be careful when assembling. This plastic can get brittle with age. All the pieces are there.... The cloth seat and canopy are relatively clean overall, but do have a few FAINT brown spots of discoloration here and there.

BOX: The lid is in POOR condition with MANY CREASES/DENTS/EDGE WEAR and 2 of the corners are split.... The bottom of the box is pretty solid, but has some age-discoloration and some minor spotting/. On the front/top above the "Miss Barbie" wording and on the left side panel... There are some bends to the orange cardboard piece... The one piece makes a "seat" for her....

The insert piece with background picture is nice except for the left side (that is under the other section)... This is where it says "cut these out" and where a child had cut the "dirt" piece that goes in the Planter.

Overall, this is for for the "mint or picky" collector, but it is still a very nice example of this hard-to-find Playset. I have tried to honestly note any flaws above and have included several images to give a clear view. Prompt payments are greatly appreciated! The percentage depends on which COUNTY you are in...
