For your consideration is this Stunning BILD LILLI DOLL who was the inspiration for the #1 Barbie doll. Lilli was manufactured by the O&M Hausser Toy Company in Germany from 1955 until 1964 when Mattel acquired the rites to the doll and ceased production. About 130,000 Bild Billi dolls were made during those nine years. She was based on a popular "naughty" cartoon-strip character Lilli created by Reinhard Beuthien and which ran in the German tabloid newspaper Bild.

Lilli is 11.5 inches tall and has her original makeup with a perfect ponytail retie by the inimitable Gene Foote. Her makeup is original and just gorgeous.

This doll is in excellent condition with fairly good stringing. She had a broken thumb which Gene expertly repaired before I bought her.

She will come to you wearing a beautiful Bild Lilli gown of pale pink lace. She has no stand or her circular box. Don't miss your chance to add this star to your vintage fashion doll collection.
