Antique French Painted Cloth Doll?? Chair in photographs not included. Up for adoption is a darling French painted cloth doll, brimming with charm and history. Measuring about 15.5 inches tall, she has been in my grandmother's care for nearly a century?? We are lovingly rehoming her so she can bring joy and beauty to a new collector's world rather than resting unseen in storage.
Painted canvas/muslin face with blush cheeks, bow lips, and finely brushed lashes. Original auburn mohair curls, stitched in place and softly aged, with factory glue reinforcement at the hairline. Hand-sewn cloth body, firmly stuffed with stitched fingers and flat feet. Wearing her original 3-piece outfit : ruffled organdy dress, lace-trim chemise, and matching bloomers. Vintage metal snap closure on the dress-period authentic and working perfectly.
Torso (neck to crotch): 6-7? Leg (hip to heel): 8.5-9? Arm (shoulder to wrist): 6-6.5?? Excellent overall condition for age with vibrant paint and lovely clothing. Tiny fabric split beneath her left eye (1/8?) where the painted cloth has opened slightly, showing the weave. This is stable and typical for dolls of this age, and does not affect her display charm. Original clothing intact; light, neat hand-mending to inner lining only.No odors, no mildew; smoke-free home. This little beauty belonged exclusively to my grandmother and remained in our family until now. With love, we pass her on so she can grace a new collection.
