J. D. Kestner 221 Googly Eye Doll All Bisque Fully Jointed Rebuilt 1981

  

This is an original J. KESTNER GOOGLY EYE HEAD Marked Made In Germany 11 JDK 221 Gres Gesch. However the Doll has been rebuilt/repaired by a woman named Jean Buckley in 1981 which you will also see her later signature on the lower head back. Remarkably well and detailed i might add.

THE BODY IS ENTIRELY BISQUE! Fully articulated at every Joint including Wrists. And done almost identically to how the original kestner bodies were detailed. With paint touch ups and a skull cap replaced in 1981 as well as a replacement wig. The clothing is period appropriate for an original Googly Eyes Kestner doll from early 1900s, but is likely a replacement outfit. Really special piece and Jean Buckley did wonders bringing love and life back to this beautiful Doll. While not much is known of Jean Buckley her mark will live on through this beautiful doll. Her initials can also be found on the arms near the elblows. In the item details i wasnt sure whether to call this an original or not but chose to considering its not a technical reproduction item but is instead a Rebuild.
