ORIGINAL 1959 BRUNETTE #1 PONYTAIL BARBIE The Holy Grail of Barbie Collecting. Blondes were made 3:1 over brunettes, making brunettes more rare and therefore more valuable. And her paint is all original, making her even more rare and valuable.

Her face paint is starting to fade, giving her a softer look; she is stunning. She has no neck splits, no green ear, no chews, and no bad smells. It is nice and thick, no missing plugs. Her top-knot has been retied. She has wonderful poodle bangs. Her body is very nice; it is one of the earliest bodies with "Japan" marked in a small box on the bottom of her foot. She has both tubes in her feet and only the faintest marks on the tops of her feet from shoes, primarily on the left foot. She has a light mark on the back of her left arm, not very noticeable. I also noticed when I was cropping the pictures that she has discoloration on the back of her right leg, I did not notice this on the doll. These imperfections are light and not seen at all from the front. She will come with her original swimsuit, original open-toed sandals , original sunglasses, original booklet, original hoop earrings, a reproduction #1 two-pronged stand, and a reproduction flex leg insert.
