Rare 1982 Estrela Barbie near MIB #1 BarbieFrom Brazil Foreign Superstar Vintage

  

This GORGEOUS doll was one of the FIRST Barbie dolls ever produced by Mattel's licensee ESTRELA in Brazil! 1982 was the 1st year Estrela was allowed to produce Barbie dolls-- they made 14 different Barbies that year, and this doll was one of them.

As a group, you could consider them the #1 Barbies from Brazil. (Estrela did not produce any Ken, Skipper or friend dolls that year).

Mattel must have given Estrela the old Beauty Secrets molds, as this doll has the moving arms when you push a panel on her back. Her elbows & wrists also move, and she has the Beauty Secrets facial screening. She has RED hair, BLUE eyes, and a gorgeous PINK skintone.

She wears a fantastic leopard-print outfit with jacket, belt, and matching shoes. Wears the Superstar "diamond" earrings, ring, and necklace.

Comes with lots of little accessories as well as star-shaped Estrela stand. The little accessories on the top "shelf" had to be put back under the plastic cover and there are a few small areas of color loss on the pink cardboard. The box has wear and tears from original import & from original cello.

The box received a new covering of cellophane so she would have the LOOK of NRFB. There is a small hole in cello on bottom of box (see photo #8). Box has creasing and tears/WEAR. Box is bright & colorful and the artwork and graphics are simply amazing! Box is entirely in Portuguese. Still has stock number sticker on bottom lid. The 1982 Estrela dolls are truly the rarest foreign dolls in the world of Barbie, as they were the very 1st ones! She will be turning 40 years old in about 6 months and she will be a real treasure in your collection. Please look at all pictures and ask any questions.
