RARE Vintage Number # 1 Barbie Mattel Ponytail 1959 Original Box

  
This Doll would be a prize piece in the best of collections. Original Vintage Rare Authentic 1959 #1 Mattel Barbie Blonde Ponytail in Original 850 Japan Box. The Box is in excellent condition, all of the corners are strong and intact with just a bit of shelf ware on one edge.

The bottom portion of the box has a small split in the back that does go through to the other side. The box has the orginal price marked on it in markings. Barbie comes with a Barbie Newsletter booklet sealed with black mules and sunglasses. The mules in this package do not have the holes in the soles, however She also comes with an extra pair of black mules that do have the proper holes in the soles. Both of these shoes with the holes have splits in the top portion and bent heals.

Her foot is marked Japan. She Does Not have her stand, her wrist tag, or her box insert. Barbie's hair looks fantastic and appears to be in it's original top knot with no plugs missing. I have not undone or touched her hair to verify the rubber band, but from what I can see it appears original.

The bottom knot rubber band was original and it was broken not included. I do not retie or retouch any of my dolls. Her hair is very long with a lot of curl still in the ends and the bangs. She has no green ear. Her face paint is original with just a bit of fading on the corner of her lips as seen in the photos. Her nail color on the fingers is 95% or better and the toenail polish is as well. She has the copper tubing in her left foot. Her limbs are nice and tight and will hold a pose well.

Her neck is nice and tight as well. Her body is faded and has the pinkish markings from her swimsuit which is normal for this era doll.

Her Swimsuit is in excellent condition and is nice and tight and holds well to her body. She does have some small marks on her body, I don't know if they can be cleaned off.

I do not retouch dolls. The left side says B 44. She has no nose nips. Please refer to the pictures and request more close ups if you need them. If you are uncomfortable with your knowledge of this doll please consult an additional expert.
