Vintage Barbie #3 Ponytail

  
An interesting Barbie, she has pinkish arms and legs, but they are lighter (and pinker) than my number 4. Her head and torso are an ivory color, and she has a crayon smell. With raven black hair, original blue eyeliner and red lips, her owner had her professionally cleaned and has had her hair re-set. Some fading and a tiny amount of paint flaking has occurred, but this is normal for a 50+ year old vinyl doll. Her left thumb has a tiny nip.

Toe and nail polish is still present, but the TM is missing from her behind- one cannot know if this is from wear or perhaps she was a prototype for the transitional series. She is definitely a number 3 Barbie, circa 1959/1960. Japan is stamped under her foot. Barbie has a tight head, arms and legs, and can hold any pose.

Her hair is long and her bangs are full. There are no neck splits, no nose nips, and no green ear. Her earrings have safe plastic posts.
